Accelerated Supercharging available for 75 kWh MS?

I've checked but can't seem to find any information as to whether or not 2019.12.1.1 is available for the 75kwh builds. My wife has the 100kwh MX and has this firmware update. Thanks for any help on this.

Tesla has not started yet, but I give it a very small chance you'll get faster charging. Using the same batteries in the 100 as the 85 (which is not exactly the case), should alone account for a 15% additional supercharging power. The 100 also has a different cooling system, presumably more efficient that the one still used in the 60/70/75/Standard Range. So going from 120 kW to 150 kW on the S100 is about 25% more power.

I was on 2019.8.5, Model S75 with AP 2.0. The Service Center had contacted me the other week about the Blind Spot Warning Reduced error message ever since updating to 8.5. At that time I asked if 2019.12 would resolve that issue. He said .12 was halted because it had a few bugs. Today I just updated to 12.1.1 so hopefully that fixes the Blind Spot error.

I installed 12.1.1 recently on my 2018 75D and the release notes made no mention of faster charging.

I got the update last night (12.1.1), 2014 S 60...AP1, have not looked at the release notes that much...just hope it has dog mode...we need it in Arizona about now...

I got 2019.12.1.2 2 days ago and the release notes are similar to 2019.12 EXCEPT for the mention of battery warm-up for faster Supercharging. I have a S 75D built in mid 2018.

I have a 2017 S75D. Upgraded to 12.1.2. My max charge rate was never over 95KW and at a recent supercharging session I was at 105KW. Seems to be a slight improvement.

@prust. I have had the same experience and never been over 95 KW. Any incremental improvement is great.

In teslafi, would this be listed under Charger Power? If yes, there was an increase compared to previous charging at the same SC in the past.

I have a loaner 75D with 12.1.2. I tested it for maximum super charging rate and achieved 105KW. I had read here from owners of 75D that 95KW was the maximum rate previously however on a YouTube video with Bjorn, he stated 75D max rate was 105KW initially when new so I’m not sure what’s going on with that.

Been to about 10 different superchargers, maybe 50 times total over two years and never over 94KW until last week.

105 kW charging rate on a 75D would be roughly 1.4C. That's inline with the 1.5C Supercharging upgrades seen on the Model 3 and the 100 kWh S/X.

I have a 2015 70D and once I hit 121kw at a supercharger last summer way before the supercharger software upgrade. Normally it peaks at 114 for a few mins before it slowly tapers down

The older 70 kWh battery is different than the newer 75 kWh battery. The 70 chargers faster because of voltage specs.

Also keep in mind that similar to 90 packs, the 75 pack will be permanently restricted to a max of around 80kW at some point depending on Supercharger usage. The voltage differences also will impact low SoC speed, so it is no good to arrive in the teens or lower with a restricted battery. You will need to make every attempt to keep the SoC between 25% and 60% as the BMS will only allow max restricted rate in this range.

I won’t pretend I am not surprised and a bit dissapointed that this was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase. What is interesting is that during and to complete the sale, the representatives and store management assured me that I could charge freely with no adverse effects or penalties until such time as I established home charging.

Tesla goofed on the 90/75 cell chemistry and are penalizing owners to limit warranty repair costs. Despite ample research is difficult to cover ever base and eventuality and I would not have purchased this vehicle knowing that my charge rate would be permanently restricted in less than two years and 30K miles. I estimate 2/3 have been on chargers for the entire period of ownership. On the plus side, I am using Superchargers less and very rarely take trips in excess of 300 miles one way, so the impact is somewhat minimal and the vehicle appears to no longer be losing range as of the last three months.

With that said, for those seeing the newly increased roughly 110kW rate, this represents approximately 10 minutes saved for each half hour charging session if your pack becomes restricted by the BMS.

I achieved a 129 kW rate on three different superchargers yesterday at SoC at or below 30%. I supercharge only on trips, fewer than 25% of my miles.
