New modern Tesla Forum

Since forum.tesla.com lacks many of the features of a modern forum, I've just setup a new community for Tesla owners

https://www.allanswered.com/community/200/tesla/

Tesla cars are equipped with state-of-the-art technology but forums.tesla.com is using web technology from the 90's.

Specifically,
- There is no mechanism for voting up/down (ala stack overflow.com). This would add usefulness of the forum significantly, by bubbling up useful answers to the top while keeping useless "answers" such as "lol", "me too", etc at the bottom of the thread
- No text formatting
- No community moderation (again like stackoverflow.com where users who have acquired enough up-votes get to moderate answers)
- No possibility to upload images
- No native search capability (yes, I know about "site:forums.tesla.com)
- No possibility to add tag to questions for ease of search

This forum does suck for sure. TeslaMotorsForum.com solves most of your gripes so I wouldn't reinvent the wheel.

TeslaMotorsClub.com Correction

lilbean | 29. Dezember 2016

Yep. It sucks. Especially with the self proclaimed forum bosses. Self righteous a holes on here.

PedanticOne | 29. Dezember 2016

There are forum bosses?

lilbean | 29. Dezember 2016

Yes. Stay away from the general forum. Some will chew you up and spit you out. They just like to hear themselves speak and those who support everything they say.

PedanticOne | 29. Dezember 2016

Ah, you mean in the mafioso sense :-) Now I'm picturing those old cartoons with the big bulldog being followed by one of those yippee dogs "that's right boss! you tell 'em, boss!"

lilbean | 29. Dezember 2016

Haha! Good one. Just like that. :-)

Triggerplz | 29. Dezember 2016

In other words a lot of ass kissing is going on :-)

@rezaii, I concur with @reeler...the Tesla Motors Club forum meets all the criteria in your list, and it is well established.

I actually find TMC to be a descent site and their annual meetings are great. If anything there needs to be more aggressive with their monitoring to get rid of some of the bullying. There are too many loyal participants of TMC to think a third (new) site is needed or will be supported.

Tropopause | 01. Januar 2017

I like the 90's and LOL's.

lilbean | 01. Januar 2017

Thank you!! xo :)

It would be nice if the tesla forums were hosted in a better place for sure. e.g. stackoverflow.

Teslapalooza | 03. Mai 2019

I like the idea of improving this forum to add the features listed by the poster. I got to admit though that I have got (and shared some as well) a lot of useful information from this forum over the years. Thankful for that.

Revived old thread but still relevant. There is a dichotomy in driving the most advanced car technology and learning more about in a forum that can’t support pictures. Normally I would follow a statement like that with a rolling eye emoji but this forum doesn’t support that either.

TeslaTap.com | 06. Mai 2019

They used to support pictures, but with many graphic spam (hard to filter), porn and copyright violations, Tesla killed it. Requires a lot of oversight to manage images, especially where you are a prime target for that kind of crap.
