Telanomics Model 3 delivery date prediction tool

Telanomics Model 3 delivery date prediction tool

My apologies if this was posted already. Looks like the folks at Teslanomics created a predictive tool for the delivery of reserved Model 3s, based upon the various factors of reservation (date reserved, location, current Tesla owner, etc.).

Good though, but this story has been circulating for a while. The calculator's predictive value is good for nothing other than falsely setting one's expectations however, because it is based on production capacity of the old NUMMI plant.

I think the two guys that came up with the formula must have fallen asleep at the Mad Hatter's tea party and missed the part about first principles engineering and machines building machines.

And it's based on wild guesses about delivery times for various options, and wild guesses about production ramp rate, and wild guesses about geographical roll-out plans. It's the ultimate example of GIGO.

There's one thing we know for sure about this - its estimates will be wrong.

As accurate as a fortune cookie, and almost as fun.
