Falcon Wing roof glass replaced has now red tint

edited November -1 in Model X
Hi everyone,

I have a MX 100D built on late 2018. Unfortunately I had to replace the roof glass of a Falcon Wing (driver side), and I’ve realized that the new part has the red tint effect when the glass is wet. The other door doesn’t have that effect.

Do you have any clue if the red tint on Falcon Wing is still applying to new cars or maybe the gave me an old glass?

Thank you for your help.

Regards

It’s UV treatment that’s baked into the glass. Some batches are more noticeable than others, as far as I know.
  • Hi,
I have a MX90 built on late 2016 and same story with glass.
Here is Tesla answer on my request:
” The observable difference in the color of glass when wet is due to the old glass having different type of UV-protection. Issue is only cosmetic and the older style glass is no longer available.”
