I think your updated projections may be misleading. The reservation rate has been increasing since this thread began, yet your projection has dropped from 6584 down to 5587.
At the year end, if the present trend continues, your post will be something like:
(2580*690)/325 = 5477
showing a further drop of 110 units, with no change in reservation rate.
Based on the current slight increase in reservation rate, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict your year end post will be
(2590*690)/325 = 5500
showing a drop of 87 units.
I'm not trying to nitpick, but I'm concerned that readers may think the reservation rate is dropping when it is actually increasing.
If I follow your logic, your projected total reservations by end of 2012 (not 2013) is:
(2259*325)/279 = 2631
Is that correct?
I think 2590 is a better estimate. Time will tell!
The rate is, of course, based on the whole history from "reveal" to present. There was a big surge early on, but since then little or no promotion. That will change some time next year, I guess, but there will be new prototypes and pre-production models circulating before any push happens, I think.
Short-term fluctuations in rate are slightly interesting so far, but the end-2012 number is relatively meaningless.
I got the impression around "reveal" time that 2013 production was guesstimated at 5K; that may be wrong, and TM may try to ramp X up to 10-15K the first year. In that case they will push reservations more forcefully (prototypes in stores, etc.) and reservations would surge.
Look on the number right now as an indicator of early low-promo interest. The focus has been on S (as it actually generates revenue, is being delivered, etc.), so I think you may have to wait about 6 mo. for the X push.

Just Reserved Model X Signature #228 on November 18, 2012 at 1:00 AM Eastern Time.
I am surprised that my number was that high. The count was at 212 ten days ago and the rate for signatures has been about 16 per month since August. So how did 15 other reservations besides mine happen in just the last 10 days?

why have you separated out Switzerland from europe?? Although it is not part of the EU I doubt that Switzerland will get its own numbering scheme in the reservation list!? In any case I have reservation sig#4 and live in Switzerland. But I am certain that it is sig#4 for europe since that is what my rep said in zurich at the time. I ordered it at the release party in LA............
@Felix - I separated it because awhile back someone reported that it was a separate list. However, it does appear on both the S and X Tallies that this is not the case. I will correct it.
