  • Yep, I saw the same thing. Took me to their help page: https://success.vanillaforums.com/kb/documentation
  • Now puzzle about Fish getting approved is more clear and non owners able to create threads.
  • Tesla also confirmed anyone can now create threads, similar to the way it was a few years ago. With better spam protection and other tools, it makes sense.
  • ^ that’s a pleasant surprise. Up until the software refresh is counted turn out as absentee landlords.

The flagger/spammers that were the problem that motivated Tesla to make changes in the forum software have been much less active. They can't delete other owner posts and comments so they've lost interest. Deleting other ower posts and comments was flagger/spammers main means to try and edit and censor the Tesla forums.

The new forum software also discouraged them from polluting every car discussion thread with their comments about how to manipulate the forum via flagging deletions of posts and comments. Since they can't stalk, the level of flagger/spam personal attacks has dropped a lot.

No doubt the @"TeslaTap.com" scripts that promoted stalking, deletion of owner posts and comments came to Tesla's attention. Those scripts no longer work either.

And, knowing that Tesla is watching as it rolls out new software has also toned down the flagger/spammer's attack posts.

Tesla simply purchased a forum software package and hosting solution, they didn't hire @vanillaforums to run the forums, its not even an offered service.

My guess is Tesla chose @vanillaforums software because it had roots in WordPress, the original forum software and that made it easier to port over content from old forums to new.
  • @TeslaTap.com, Thank you for an update.
  • Would be nice to have an option to delete my own thread back.
  • My Chrome extension is working fine and Tesla is well aware of it - a good thing. I never promoted stalkers or trolls, but do help identify toxic and spam posters. For those that would like these features:

No doubt as they completely neutered the destructive scripts effect.
  • Thanks to Tesla you stopped at least for now with copy/paste posts, Fishie
  • @ TT: They should pay you megabucks
