"It's the performance that won us over," says AUTOMOBILE Magazine, as they determined who would hold the title of 2013 Automobile of the Year. "All that speed, along with powerful braking, super flat handling, and sharp steering, gives you the sense that you're invincible," AUTOMOBILE reported. Editors also raved about the impressive body control and vacuum-like grip as Model S took corners and were impressed with the suspension's ability to soak up bumps that tortured other test cars. "The electric motor does not define this car...but it is, at the end of the day, what makes this very good sport sedan an absolute game changer," AUTOMOBILE stated. "It has managed to blend the innovation of a Silicon Valley start-up, the execution of a world-class automaker, and, yes, the chutzpah of its visionary leader." We're immensely proud of this award and are thrilled to share this exciting news with you!

Tesla's Supercharger network is a complete game changer for the EV market. Supercharging enables free long-distance driving and convenient road trips beyond what many people ever conceived possible with an electric vehicle. Tesla Superchargers are now open in six California cities enabling free travel throughout the state of California, including trips between San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Model S owners with 85 kWh cars and Supercharger enabled 60 kWh cars can stop at any Tesla Supercharger and charge for free, anytime. With the Tesla Supercharger, Model S owners are able to replenish about fifty percent of their battery's range in 30 minutes -- that's about 150 miles with an 85 kWh battery. Learn more about Supercharging and our plans for expansion here.

Tesla is blasting through Fall, opening 10 new locations in North America from Miami Beach to three stores in the New York metropolitan area. Informative digital touchscreens and our interactive Design Studios encourage visitors to design their own Model S, calculate battery range, learn how to take a trip and watch current owners share their Tesla experience. "All retail locations in North America have a Tesla Model S on display, and many have dedicated test-drive vehicles that offer customers the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience the exhilarating performance and superior handling of Model S," says George Blankenship, VP of Sales and Ownership Experience.
