FSD, "Tesla is no longer the leader"

"Elon Musk has been teasing for years about self-driving Teslas. But, when it comes to autonomous driving technology, Tesla is actually running behind when it comes to strategy and execution.

For example, Cruise, a subsidiary of General Motors, is better at driving autonomously and is building a business that will make car ownership obsolete. When it comes to self-driving, Tesla is no longer the leader, but only a challenger as its models are just starting to recognize traffic lights and stop signs.

Cruise logged 831,040 autonomous miles in California during 2019 while Tesla logged 12.2 autonomous miles. But an even greater reason for concern is that Cruise is not competing for a garage space but to replace car ownership altogether. Therefore, its service which is due to launch next year is threatening Tesla's core business."

  • And you posted this bc you are such a nice guy and want to give us heads up? What a clown
  • Stock price is up; Battery day is tomorrow; and FISH, howard, and Tanya are wildly active today. FUD.
Also: When one sees unattributed $SUGAR on Yahoo Finance the day before battery day, you can pretty much bet it's a hit piece.
  • Kind of old but good read on what AP sees.

  • Cruise is helping Tesla's mission to accelerate the advent of sustainable energy by making individual car ownership obsolete. Working As Intended.
  • Also if you read article you would understand what goes in to AP vs dumb ACC on Other cars.
  • I'm not buying the Yahoo article.. The VW boss (and others) have recently stated they are years behind Tesla and are playing catch up...

They pay me 81.6 cents a post. I better start typing faster. 🙄
  • It's ok Tanya, go back to the running on the beach but please be careful and don't catch Covid.

    Is your name William_M?
  • Last Quarter 35% of all exported cars from the USA were Tesla. The market has spoken.

  • That's it, we should all sell our Teslas and wait for a ride from GM.

You guys are cute with your denials about your anti Tesla motivations.... I like the absurdity style of denial the best.
  • People who can afford to drive pretty much whatever they like, sticking with a car they hate, and telling stories about it every day for years on end..... nothing absurd going on there.
  • On “Replacing car ownership all together” It will be a difficult transition to shared vehicles. Typically most of us don’t want someone’s DNA (imagine the many forms) in the ride we take. In the absence of a human attendant preventing that is a bit of a stretch at least until we accept a different privacy standard.

So sorry Mike and fanbois. All fully documented, post proof otherwise.

The 12.2 miles driven around the Tesla factory was the infamous 2019 highly publicized demo drive. Since then nothing.

The miles driven in Autonomous mode in CA is documented by the state of CA. Tesla has reported a total of 12.2 Fully Autonomous Miles.

Keep dreaming. I love the continued deflections. Tesla is not even on the playing field. Waymo just pasted 20,000,000 Level 4/5 miles and their cost of comonents will continue to come down. Tesla's will only be going up as they add the neccessary hardward to get beyond a true level 2.
  • Howard: Urine idiot.
  • Wow im telling you guys. Getting their jabs in while they can. Make everyone think they're never going to make anything with FSD all the way up until the software rewrite release to the public. Then this bullshit narrative will vanish along with all your previous bullshit narratives.

Jesus marry & joseph, what do you people get out of this. seriously.

It happens literally every single time, for the last 4 years, i have watched each and every single narrative arise in multitude of thread tsunamis and flooding other threads, dominating the topic of discussion on the entire forum essentially and as soon as the current narrative is crushed, it just literally vanishes the next morning like it never existed. Then it takes a couple weeks or over a month later and then all of the sudden theres this huge fucking problem with Tesla and everyone on the entire forums needs to know about it in the form of a second tsunami of threads while dominating the topic of conversation on almost every single thread.

What the actual (insert alot of profane words of complete and utter disbelief confusion)
  • Too bad Audi not mentioned in the article ;)
  • I guess Howard made two mistakes by buying useless Audi and Volt
  • Cruise has not been in the news since early this year when they laid off 8% of their workforce. I cannot locate any other reputable articles since Q1.

  • Cruise is also imposing geofencing, ergo aren't working towards Level 5.
