Tesla acknowledges issue where Model 3 bumpers fall off in rain

.....what Tesla now tacitly acknowledges is an engineering defect.

  • You can read Tesla's document in this link if you want the primary source.

  • Acknowledged howard, thank you for your vigilance and tenacity. You are a beacon to the community.
  • Such a great guy. Million publishers already reported that but I am thankful that we have Howard to tell us what is going on in the world.
  • Seems like a bit of misdirection from mister deflection
  • Here are some of the original bumpers coming off in the rain links. The one the guy had the video was the most recent.

  • Boohoo so important right now. Tesla acknowledged it and will fix it. Next
  • Should we post all of Ford and GM's recalls which they fixed?

I recently had to take my F-150 in due to a faulty master cylinder.
  • It has more to do with Tesla's response, denying it for so long, stiffing owners on repairs, claiming "act of god", being dishonest and of course the fanbois going full Trump with "fake news" and blaming the owners, a Tesla tradition.

    Right out of this playbook.

"The Tesla Way: When Your Product Fails, Blame The Customer?"

    Sheeshh...don't be evil.
  • Oh man this is funny. Howie and Fishy doing their best, their absolute best here! Fishy and his list of forum posts...I bet he is some sad guy sitting in his mom's basement with his precious lists! Sitting there coughing on the word 'Tesla' a bit like Gollum. Howie is just a quintessential fantasist who likes to think he knows everything (but really knows very little) and tries to portray himself as someone who is amused by us. You will note how many posts ends with things like "this is so funny" etc. What he really is doing is deflecting from his own inadequacy to come up with any relevant data that shows Tesla is losing the EV race. Keep it up guys!
  • FISH, you are the one with the playbook. Keep flippin'
  • "InsideEVs reports that Tesla has issued a service bulletin noting that Model 3s built before May 21, 2019, may sustain damage as a result of "driving through standing water on a road or highway with poor drainage or pooling water."

"In these rare instances, the rear fascia might detach from the vehicle and harnesses and/or body fasteners/mounts might also be damaged," it continues. "This document clarifies that damage caused during these instances is covered under warranty."

Question now is will Tesla go back and pay for repairs to owners who it stiffed.

""I waited for them for over an hour, so I decided to call. They told me they were sending me a quote for how much it would cost. I asked if they could cover it, and I kept getting transferred and transferred and transferred… One person told me it was an act of God."

    Most likely.

    And still, bumpers are intact.
  • Ha ha ha .. desperately trying to hold on to something...
  • As far as all the conspiracy theories, it was topical news about a high profile issue that Tesla very recently DECLINED to fix and one discussed here and on the other Tesla forums.

    And it raises other issues.

"This cut-out appears to improve the bumper liner's drainage capacity, but at least one owner has reported a bumper cover separation on a vehicle manufactured in 2020 and provided photographic evidence that the installed bumper liner was indeed of the revised design; that owner paid $3,800 to have the resulting damage repaired."

  • And yet the bumpers are still intact, despite about a dozen Fishev posts about them falling off.
  • As I said next.
Oh and Thank you Fish and Howard. I am in process of dumping my VW SUV and getting used Tesla for myself so our house will be ICE free. It's you who convinced me to pull the trigger and go all in on Tesla including buying Tesla stock. You guys are great. Keep up your hating so more people can see how Tesla makes huge waves in adoption of green cars and self driving technology.

    You mean, like the bumper?
  • Speaking of Ford, my wife was driving our F-350 recently. She heard a cracking sound followed by the loss of steering and braking. She’s lucky to be alive.
  • New topic for trolls. Tesla recalls 30k cars in China bc of bad suspension. Oh nooooo the world is ending .
