Teslerati Wave White Flag over false Mercedes claim.

We had post about Mercedes and autonomous driving from Teslerati that was contradicted by the source even before posting.

The retraction heads the article so odd it was posted at all here as real news when it had already been retracted by Tesla fan site.

"Head of Digital Transformation at Daimler AG Sascha Pallenberg has noted on Twitter that the report from RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) is FALSE and that Mercedes-Benz’s autonomous program is still ongoing. A quote previously misattributed to the Mercedes-Benz head has also been corrected."

Premise of the Teslerati article was a false from the get go, confusing autonomous driving tech with car mfg with Level 2 ADAS (advanced driving assistance systems). Tesla's current "Full Self Driving" product falls in that category. Why the German courts rules Tesla could not advertise it as "Full Self Driving".

Ford partners with MobilEye (creator of Tesla's original Auto Pilot ADAS system) on Ford 360 Co-Pilot. MobilEye is owned by Intel.

GM has it's own subsidiary, Cruise, which is testing robot taxis in SF now.

Mercedes. the subject of Teslerati's retracted claims, partners with NVDIA

"NVIDIA And Mercedes-Benz Join Forces In An Autonomous Car Power Play"

"The race for autonomous driving is on and today NVIDIA and Mercedes-Benz are announcing an agreement to advance the entire fleet of the German Automaker’s premium vehicles, with AI-enabled technology powered by NVIDIA’s autonomous vehicle compute platforms. Specifically, Mercedes-Benz will be employing NVIDIA’s new DRIVE platform technologies as standard equipment in all vehicles, starting in 2024. This is clearly a huge design win for NVIDIA, as well as a key strategic move for Mercedes-Benz, and it comes with upgradeability features that will be critical to both the evolution of the technology itself, but also new business models that it will help enable as well."

"NVIDIA and Mercedes are underscoring that this is a “software-defined” computing architecture for automated driving. Though Tesla has had the ability to provide new features and capabilities via over-the-air updates to its customers, NVIDIA and Mercedes are emphasizing that this will be a major advantage of the platform, with the ability to configure and purchase features and capabilities for the system, both at time of purchase and later down the road, as a driver’s needs might change."
  • To OP, NEXT
  • Man, this is funny to watch the troll twins lose their shit! I'm loving the fact they are burning up their fingers typing so hard! Ahahahaha
  • @Bighorn >The article was modified, dumbass. But don’t hold your breath for a Mercedes breakthough."

But you posted it anyway without noting it was debunked already.

Mercedes and NVIDIA are going to be a strong contender which likely spooked Teslerati.com into posting the article with no fact checking only to have to post the correction immediately after posting.

    The product looks great.

  • So what car can I go buy today that is running the NVIDIA software that will stop at stop signs and stop lights?

If they are the leader they must have features that are already available, right?
  • > @Joshan said: > So what car can I go buy today that is running the NVIDIA software that will stop at stop signs and stop lights?"

None. All are in Beta including Tesla.
  • Ha ha ha Fish you are a kick.
  • so the "leader" has less features than Tesla?

    Got it
  • > @jallred said: Please move to general. Why would you put this in 3 forum?

It's where the original false claim was posted.
  • Idiot
  • It's where the original false claim was posted.-fish

You created a new topic. Why didn’t you respond to the original post instead of creating a new off-topic topic?
  • > @jallred said: > You created a new topic. Why didn’t you respond to the original post instead of creating a new off-topic topic?"

As off topic as off topic topic original.

But since original misinformation was posted here, so should the correction.
  • But since original misinformation was posted here, so should the correction.-fish

Is that a rule? Or did you make that up?
  • @hokiegir1
Thanks for explaining how reality works. Unfortunately, it’s never been shown to have any impact on trolls.
  • @Bighorn - Sadly, I know it won't do any good with the trolls themselves, but I do hope others reading that don't frequent these parts see it and understand.
  • > @hokiegir1 said > when the article was modified pointing it out."

The correction which headlined the article was posted before being posted here so a bit of deception was in play.
