8.16 kwh system generation.

Hello all. Just looking for comparisons here. I turned on my system late August and the first few days I generated 41kwh per day. Their site claims this system generates 31-42 kwh per day. The system in the first full month september generatesd between 30-35 per day. October generated 20-30. So far in November I haven't had a day higher than 22kwh on good sunny days too at peaks the app shows me only generating max at 4.33. Thank you for reading.

  • 10 kW system data for comparison (location SF Bay Area with SW orientation - 225 degrees):
    Absolute peak (achieved only 2 or 3 days per year based on length of day and temperature) = 70 kWHr / day
    Summer average (April thru October) = 60 kWHr / day
    Total annual average = 40 kWHr / day
    Shorter days and lower sun angle (along with clouds) November thru March put the daily max at about 30 kWhr / day

    Everybody is different because of latitude, roof pitch and orientation but the example should give you some idea.

  • It will vary, as the seasons change. Your maximum production will occur on a cool, low humidity, clear day, when the Sun is at 90 degrees to the surface of the panels.

    As others alluded to above, production will vary greatly by climate, latitude, roof pitch and array azimuth. Comparing systems is as much an art as a science.

    That being said, your production doesn't seem to be out of line.

    Great, production depends on many factors such as weather, season, time of day, temperature, and even the orientation of the panels. Your system can produce up to 7 times its size depending on the season.

    To calculate the estimated daily production for your system, you would multiply your system size (8 kW) by one of the numbers listed below.

    During Summer (May, Jun, Jul): multiply your System Size by 5 - 7.
    During Fall (Aug, Sep, Oct) or Spring (Feb, Mar, Apr): multiply your System Size by 3 - 5 .
    During Winter (Nov, Dec, Jan): multiply your System Size by 1 - 3.
  • Mine averages 2x in the Winter, and 6x in the Summer. Right smack in the middle of their stated ranges.
