New app feature - back row vent control

Please make the tesla app available for the 2nd and 3rd row occupants to control their ventilation and seat heaters.

Comments

  • So you want your 2nd and 3rd row occupants to have the Tesla app logged into your account on their phones so they can control their seat heaters and ventilation, and put a speed limit on the car while you are driving, and do all kinds of other things? ..got it.

Tesla could implement this like they did with media control. It doesn’t give unlimited access to other app features.
  • Or they could put climate controls within reach of 2nd and 3rd row passengers like other premium car makers do.

They could, if they weren't using a touchscreen for those controls up front.
  • @EVRider - If a touchscreen is a must (I doubt it), they could put a smartphone size one in for the rear seat passengers on the back of the center console. Having to bug the driver or front passenger seat occupant to activate and adjust the temp on the aft cabin seat heaters is a bit short sighted in a car that is otherwise well engineered.
  • Even the now common dual climate control is a joke. Cars are not like houses where there are different floors, walls and rooms. If you as a driver want it to be 70 but your passengers want it to be 74, guess what it’s going to be 72 in the car. The only thing that can be truly individualized are the seat heaters.
  • different temp air being blown directly onto passengers feels quite different than the average car temp
