New display storage degraded warning.

I hadn't seen this posted previously that Tesla had instituted a MCU1 failure warning but first time driving after installing 20.40.9.2 on my '15 S I got the warning "Center display storage device degraded". I knew the MCU was going out but nice to see an "official" warning to trigger a service call presumably covered by the warranty adjustment program.

This warning is very recent, maybe in the last two weeks. It may not appear for those on older firmware, prior to .40

Hopefully, you will get the new chip you need, not a just a runaround or clearing the "home folder", another new term with uncertain meaning.

Suggest you get in the queue asap. I have been waiting 8 weeks ..

OK, I suspected it had been posted before but buried in other threads. I stopped reading the mega-long MCU failure threads as they didn't seem to add any value other than complaining.

I suppose I could ask Tesla to push out the new release containing the warning, and just not worry about the MCU.

Looks like no road trips for us in LA for a while, and no need for AC if the MCU dies on the way to an essential destination.
