I am so depressed right now. I was so looking forward to seeing the EV revolution but if what fishev says is true (Tesla is a few years behind Porsche in EV tech) then in a few years we will have new Tesla cars with lower range and less efficiency when Tesla finally catches up to the current Taycan technology.
WWicefree "Nope. Bc they are already sitting on the dealer lot and whatever config they choose for you that what you will get. I don't call that very customizable."
You miss the point entirely. Very few Porsches (on a relative basis to overall Porsche sales) are purchased from lot inventory. The vast majority are custom-ordered. The exceptions tend to be non-Porsche people and wanna-be's who don't know the deal with Porche - you are paying a huge premium for exclusivity so why not get the whole experience. including making it "yours" - more so than with any other marque short of Rolls, Bentley, etc.?

Others may pour over all the cool details of both cars and look for the features they need or want at the price they can afford.

At these prices peoples used to look at metrics.
But now that Tesla is beating every other car companies at standard metrics.
The « purists » as they call themselves have to find new metrics
Since the advent of car forums, there’s always been shit talking the competition. This is not simply a Tesla phenomenon. Truck forums are even worse. At least we don’t have bumper stickers of Tesla Calvin pissing on other marques.

Elon Musk didn’t invent fanbois ... we’ve just gone to first principles- the best part is no part the best process is no process. Fans buy the stonk and the products and become (rich + happy)
Tesla optimizes happiness without having to do the shit talking.

Agreed, yet if you search cars.com, there are ~1000 unspoken for Taycans.

At intangibles there is a typo for the Taycan Flash vs Flashy sedans
> Why do we need to compare two? People who wants to drive Porsche will drive it and people who wants Tesla will own Tesla.
sums it up quite well.
