  • and there is no warranty for it I will pay the full price
  • @GS12282006 - The MCU2 retrofit price includes the return of the old MCU1 for possible refurbishment. The latest MCU2 retrofit price is $1500, but you can keep MCU1 if you pay a total of $2500. In essence, you are getting a $1000 discount for letting Tesla keep MCU1. Note that MCU2/MCU1 in this context includes the related instrument panel.

    MCU2 includes a 2-year 25,000-mile warranty. I doubt there is any warranty on a removed MCU1.
  • Will the replace the screen or they will put the screen of mcu1?
  • On the screens, Tesla has gone back and forth on this. When the price was $2500 (and they keep MCU1), they included new displays. To some people, they offered a $2250 price if reusing the display.

In all cases, the instrument cluster gets a new display. With the new lower price, I don't know if the main screen is replaced or not.

Your choice. You can request either. It saves you a few bucks if you reuse your existing. I chose to get the new one for the S and am doing same for X.
