Oil Can sounds while driving

Wondering if anyone hears odd oil can like sound from beneath and behind while driving? Not often but every once and a while

Comments

  • Battery case flexing. Can be mechanical, temperature or altitude related.
  • Yes, what Bighorn said.
  • Oldish M3, from 2019 and earlier, do have a service bulletin on something like the vents on the battery pack. Those cars and known to make those oil can noises when at a supercharger. No stories about how this _hurts_ the car, just that the noise is there.
  • Had the vent upgrade. Still oil cans.
  • I dont know if I'm just getting used to it, but mine seems to do it less now than when It was new. I dont have the new vents.
