Bad Cable - Good Customer Service
Just picked up my MY LR Saturday and it was great. Drove everyone around all day but when I got home and plugged in, the charger would not engage and clearly would not charge the vehicle. I called the closest Tesla dealer (not the one i bought from) and they said to hurry in before they closed at 7PM. Long story, the Schaumburg illinois location analyzed the problem and told me it was a faulty pin in the cable and gave me a new cable. Also offered to put the car on the supercharger so I would have enough battery to get home. It could have ended so much worse, but they made my early days as a MY owner a positive one. For those buying a Tesla, might make sense that they try your cable at dealer before you take it home just to be sure you don’t have a similar problem.
