Maryland Tesla Club?

I'll be getting my Tesla in late May at the Rockville location. I have to wait this long because we are snowbirds coming up from Florida, and I have to bring up my wife's car. We usually arrive in mid-May until early October when we travel down to Florida again. We'll be living in Centreville and I'm looking for other Tesla drivers nearby. (Nearby being a relative term). Anyone out there?

    I just took delivery of my P85D 2 days ago and live in Ellicott City. I would also like to be part of a Maryland Tesla club.

    I'm in. How does one proceed? My S85D is due in May also.

    Well it looks like it's time to start a club. So far there is 4 of us and I think that's just the beginning. Maybe we could all meet in Annapolis in late May or early June to form a club and talk over ideas. What do you guys think?

    I like the idea. We should pick a a place that's convenient to everyone involved, why Annapolis?

    @fburns3 - which electrician did you use for the charger installation & how much did it cost? I get my P85D in 3 weeks, may be we can meet earlier than the club meeting. What do you say?

    Just picked Annapolis off the top of my head. Anywhere is fine. Have any suggestions? As far as the electrician, I did that for my career, so it's just time and materials for me. Most electrical panels are in the garage, so it's only a matter of adding a junction box next to the panel with the specified plug. Not very difficult.

    You are in Rockville, me & fburns3 are in Ellicott City. Assuming Bob is in the area too makes Spencerville or Olney a good half way choice. We can certainly choose a different place for subsequent meets.

    Thank you for the details on the outlet installation.

    There are quite a few posts here about meetups, roadtrips and a DC club. Including this one: http://my.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/starting-dc-area-owners-club You can search easily using www.volkerize.com.

    Thank you for the folks who responded with information on DC Tesla Owners group. Our intention was to start one in MD, and this gives us a good idea to start on google communities.

    @Cpuglisi23 Congratulations!!!
    I work in Columbia too. I'm waiting for my P85D, expecting late April.

    Now that we have 3 P85Ds in Columbia I have started a MD Tesla Owners community on Google with Columbia as a tentative location (this can be changed anytime). Here is a link please join

    I'm expecting my S85D in Rockville late April. How does one join a private google+ community without an invitation?

    Last year I orginized a group of Tesla owners to drive in the Annapolis 4th of July parade. We plan on doing it again this year.

    @prathyayani

    Good luck. The DC owners group is really a DC area group with members from DC, NoVa and MD. If you want an MD group that's great. Especially if there are enough owners to do it.

    A little concerned we start getting a bit fractured and have less sharing (i.e 3 small groups vs a larger one).

    @bdh - Isn't there a way for you to request membership once you click the link?

    @GaryREM.va.us - The number of Tesla owners in MD is growing. We can't certainly match the DC numbers, but we can be a small group that has it's own activities and also participate in DC area group.

    @prathyayini - I wasn't a member of Google+ so I joined and made the request to be added to the group. Thanks.

    I was thinking of setting up an Annapolis area group. It would be great to have 20 Tesla's at the Cars & Coffee downtown Annapolis Sunday mornings.

    @Paul1839,
    I'm just outside Annapolis also.
    Where is this Cars and Coffee held?
    In the parking lot by Ego Alley?
    I don't do Facebook.

    You folks that are new owners know about the "Reach the Beach" meet-up in mid-April?

    http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/41161-TeslaRoadTrip-2015-Reach-the-Beach-April-17th-19th-2015

    There was some discussion about meeting in Annapolis first for the drive to Salisbury.

    @Half Dollar Bill - Thank you for sharing. I have shared the link on the MD Tesla Owner group as well. Sounds like a fun trip. I will have to play by ear as I might be in Chicago during that week.

    @prathyayini - sorry for the delayed response. The electrician I used was Tri-Star Electric. They were excellent. Debbie was my electrician, and her attention to detail and thoroughness was superb (and I am a picky customer). Call Greg Degrafft at 410-799-5791 to coordinate your installation.
