Renewables take over fossil fuels in the UK. They will need Tesla Powerpacks similar to what they did in Australia.
So pleased to see logic and economics shifting away from fossils.

Yes, I am getting a sense that the tide is turning and renewables are taking off and hopefully the pace of transition will accelerate. It is a no brainer and once we remove the scumbag POTUS occupying the White House, we can get things going on a national level. With the PG&E outage last week in CA, the need to accelerate adoption of solar + batteries should be loud and clear there.

Thanks @Mike83, very informative and important facts about why Whales matter and should be conserved and valued for the incredible beautiful and worthwhile species they are. I find it reprehensible that Japan and other whaling nations still think it is ok to keep slaughtering them.

"Whales absorb large amounts of carbon in their bodies. During the lifetime of the average whale, which is 60 years, it will sequester 33 tons of CO2. In comparison, a tree absorbs up to 48 pounds of CO2 each year. Whales also promote the growth of phytoplankton. Phytoplankton captures 40% of the world's CO2 and contributes at least 50% of oxygen to the atmosphere. "At a minimum, even a one percent increase in phytoplankton productivity thanks to whale activity would capture hundreds of millions of tons of additional CO2 a year, equivalent to the sudden appearance of two billion mature trees," the study says.

Whales promote the growth of phytoplankton in two ways. The movement of whales pushes nutrients from the bottom of the ocean to the surface, which feeds phytoplankton and other marine life. The second way they help with carbon absorption is through their poop. "It turns out that whales' waste products contain exactly the substances — notably iron and nitrogen — phytoplankton need to grow," per the study. Yes, you read that right. Whale poop might be the solution to climate change we've been waiting for. "

I love whales, they are magnificent and incredibly awesome to watch as they breathe and breach. They are also very intelligent mammals. Indeed an extremely important part of the web of life for survival. I have listened to their songs that travel in the ocean long distances. Truly a wonder of life. Being a good steward of the earth makes our life richer.

I just read this great news. Tesla powerpack installations going worldwide as they have proven their value in places like Australia and Hawaii already.

I have some more hope for reversing the climate crisis as the world wakes up to the challenges.

The more I learn about what Tesla is doing to advance their battery development, the more excited I am in Tesla's future. They are years ahead of everyone else and I think energy storage will make billions for Tesla and eclipse the automotive side of Tesla in the future. I watched the utube yesterday about "Solid State Battery Development and what it means for Tesla. Very exciting! Also the "Know You Know" segment about Maxwell's Supercapacitor technology acquisition is super exciting as well. Tesla is moving forward at a blistering pace and everyone else seems to be caught in the headlights and standing still by comparison.

Now You Know today with Jesse and Zac highly worth watching. Move your money out of banks supporting fossil fuel extraction, etc. into banks or credit unions that are carbon neutral supporting renewable energy.

  • Keep your stinking politics out of scientific discussions. I'm a republican and I have solar since 2010 and got a Tesla in 2012. The disgusting attitude of better than thou progressives got Trump elected. You morons are not willing to allow freedom of speech or thought and want to shut down anyone who has a difference of opinion. The media is complicit with your agenda and are making your position worse with anyone who wants an open and thoughtful discussion. I don't want to be abused any more so will not be returning to this forum https://www.quickppsr.com.au/vin-check.

What even did i just read. "Keep your stinking politics out of scientific discussions", and then proceeds to talk politics.
    Flagged!

More Countries banning Fracking. I believe besides contamination of drinking water the economics make no sense and solar and wind make much more sense. I have also heard the banks may not loan out for fracking also

Yes, nice to see the UK waking up to the perils of fracking, although the ban is only temporary. Let's hope it becomes permanent.

Hong Kong to phase out all ICE vehicles and be all EVs in 20 years, hopefully sooner.

This recent 31 minute talk by Tony Seba "Clean Disruption" is well worth a listen. Big changes coming in next 10 years, which will be helpful to the planet from the technological disruption in progress.

  • edited November 2019
This article reinforces what Tony Seba predicts in his spot on "Clean Disruption" talk linked above.

"Significant renewable energy growth in U.S. very soon, new estimates predict"

@Tesla-David. That is such great news. Economics forces fossil fuels to die soon it seems. Even Buffet is wising up to the economics of alternative energies even though profit seems to be his #1 priority.
Great article, thanks for the link.

Yes, the energy disruption is now fully in progress and is unstoppable no matter how much our worthless POTUS and the Koch brothers et al try to stop it from happening. As Tony Seba points out in his talk above, they will soon have stranded assets as the planet moves away from fossil fuel energy sources. The fires in California has also helped to spur this transition as people move to get solar + batteries so that they are no longer dependent on the grid for their electricity. We now have 16 months of experience on our PW2's and can say with certainty installing them as a complement to our solar was the best decision I have made in a long time and I have been blown away with how well they have worked for us. This utube link below is a worthy watch that shows how well PW2's worked over 8 days being disconnected from the grid in Colorado to operate a home plus charge two Tesla's.

I've been busy so haven't had time to read everything.
Thank you @Tesla-David for your actions and providing great evidence on PW2s.

Here is something I had read about awhile ago and it keeps getting better. Vermont is AWESOME with providing Powerwalls and letting homeowners sell power back direct to businesses.

    https://pv-magazine-usa.com/2019/11/22/vermont-letting-homesowners-sell-solar-power-direct-to-buiness/

In addition Powerwalls and Powerpacks saved Vermont $500,000 during heatwaves.
Utility companies don't want people to do this as they don't make a profit and of course the Koch and fossil fuel industries spread their dark web using ALEC to influence locals to accept climate change caused by burning fossil fuels. Follow the money.
People are waking up to the withholding of scientific facts.

As the US wallows in the dying fossil fuel promotion leaving the Paris Climate agreement, other nations put China in power.

Thanks @Mike83 for link. Very disgusting how Drumpf keeps digging the hole deeper for U.S. ceding leadership on renewable energy to China. Very embarrassing to be U.S. citizen right now with all the Drumpf actions.

Republicans breaking from the faulty Climate Deniers leading the Republicans. This is great news. Will sanity replace the insanity of the power brokers?

Add Cybertruck to the alternative energy disruption. This could power an entire village.

Tesla is so incredible. I think they've accelerated the survival of humanity by at least 5 years, maybe more.
