Thanks @Mike83, amazing how well pictures document our horrendous past relative to environmental protection/degradation. Scot Pruitt and Drumpf want to take us back to that era. Disgusting.
@Mitch. Yes the data is available. Unfortunately Trump and the Republicans try cut out scientific environmental information from the EPA under the guise of cutting out red tape. Isn’t that the issue with Houston not exploring environmental issues before building?
Not at all Captain Planet. Home builders have to go through a thorough process to get permitted to build. My stepdaughter works for a homebuilder. I'll ask her about it and relay her answer to you.
Looks like Texas is being influenced by the Russians. Both are fossil fuel interests maybe making an even bigger monopoly. Character assassination of Clinton was most likely also involved. Sad day for America. Fake news source?
Captain Planet, why don't you try some logic for a change. When a city grows, i.e. more people moving in than moving out, what do you think will happen?
Just think about that for a while Captain Planet. Maybe it will come to you.
And, why are so many moving to Houston? Think about that one for a while!
Read every post here, too funny. Lots of fun reading. I'm not gonna lean one way or another as in Nature does what it wants to do when it wants to do it. You can blame this or that, but yet again Nature does what it wants.
If you can get fire insurance where you build. Also many areas require clearing of 100 ft. around the home with a water tank and automatic sprinklers. If you don't clear they will clear it for you and charge you for it.
My comments from that alternate universe was directed at the uninsured, not you. They, the uninsured, expect to be bailed out by some magical government piggy bank while voting for the chumps who want to dismantle as many government agencies as possible.
"No welfare cheats! (except for me when my uninsured house gets flooded by and ACT OF GOD (who, by the way, I worship every Sunday)"
You, on the other hand, have the right to lobby for shutting down the government so long as you ready to also repair the damaged infrastructure that you need in order to drive your P85D on a decent roadway.
Fossil Fuel interest being sued for lies about Climate Change and the devastating effects it is causing. This is one more lawsuit. I hope its' not too late to start the cure.
@Mike. Welfare_Mitch doesn't care. He got his welfare cheese. And when further climate change disasters strike he will still be telling us to burn coal and he will line up for his welfare cheese.

No.
Cheap real estate?
And, @Mitch, people who build in wildfire areas are just as nuts as those who build on flood plains. Or have trailer parks in tornado alley.
