The Joy of S3X (with photos!)

edited October 2018 in Model 3
I know, I know, guy has S3X and the first thing he does is goes on the internet to post photos. What a creep! Showing it off in the front yard too.
(We tried to have S3X in the garage, but after trying several positions it was obvious there was no way it was going to work comfortably.)

What a threesome! They are all so versatile. Each one of these beauties is ready to go at my Summon, eager to please. They just light up as soon as I come near. They can all take a load in either the front or the rear, and have enough juice to go for hours and hours of hard driving. I could go on and on, but thought I should leave some things to your imagination....

Update, October 2018: I haven't had S3X in almost 5 months. You don't know what you're missing until you have to go without it!
I was getting pretty cranky towards the end there. Finally back in the saddle again!

    Sounds like you need to dim the lights in the driveway, sit back, relax and put on a little Marvin Gaye in the 3. I mean, I heard it has a great sound system ; )

    @EinSV - I'm on it!

    Too bad you can't hear the music, or smell the incense!

    So clean and shiny. We're all envious!

    Wow. Too S3Xy for your garage.

    Living with the threesome is not as great as it was in my imagination. In reality, someone is always getting left out, and petty jealousies are starting to show. The fat one just took a swing at the hot new model that's been getting all the attention. Tried to smack her with the front door, make it look like an accident. I intervened at the last moment. Looks like I'll have to keep them separated.

    @Mike83 - I found a way to have S3X in my garage. The S and 3 in the 2 car garage, and my eXercise equipment in the unusable third garage. Is that S3Xy enough?

    One of the nice things about an all electric fleet is that you can open up your garage and make it a nice place to live, without worrying about carbon monoxide, soot, or other combustion byproducts.

    "They can all take a load in either the front or the rear ..."

    Umm....

    @Madatgascar Nicely done. No CO makes for some interesting living spaces.
    Your M3 looks beautiful. If I buy the Tesla Semi and introduce to our MS and M3 I wonder what relationships will develop ;-D

    Never been attracted to the X-rated Tesla. Probably 'cause putting a load in the rear isn't my idea of the way to travel. Although, I have done that with a pickup. Alas, the "Joy of RS3" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

    @Madatgascar - Nice garage! What is on the floor - almost looks like carpet - but perhaps some kind of epoxy coating?
  • edited November -1
    @TT, yes, it's an epoxy coating from Garage Envy. Love it!

    I'm envious! I'd do it to my garage in a second, except moving all the crap that's also stored in the garage would be a monumental task.

    @Madatgascar: Thanks for the pix. You're going to need another garage in a couple of years when you get S3XY.

    Nah, I'll just store the Y in the Semi along with the Roadster. : )

    So I finally got my new 3, almost 5 months to the day after the first one was totaled when I was rear-ended on the 5. (Photo linked in the OP.) This one is just a little different. Insurance paid me $5k more than my purchase price for the first 3, so I figured I had extra to spend on some upgrades. We are enjoying all three of them immensely, and no longer have a gas car to be mad at.

    Sorry for the obnoxious OP... looking back, that was pretty crass....

    Talk about insurance scam! ;)

    @carlk - the insurance companies have to go by comps, and at the time people were selling the few available Model 3's well above MSRP. In a way I was lucky - I got to be one of the first kids on the block with the Model 3 (December 2017), and now I'm able to have a brand new AWD with white interior. However the 5 month wait really was tough.

    @Mad
    In this case I would call it pride & joy, not crass.
    IMHO

    Still Grinning ;-)

    @Madatgascar - I don’t remember seeing the outcome your accident. Did the person in front ever stop blaming you or could you prove the car behind you was the instigator? Sounds like you had a good insurance outcome either way.

    @walnotr, the insurance companies could not agree and are going into arbitration. I am debating whether or not to get a polygraph test at my own expense to help settle the case. I’m 100% sure that all damage was caused by the rear driver’s impact.

    V9’s dash cam feature would have saved all of this hassle. I installed dash cams on my older Teslas after this accident, but I’m waiting for V9 on the new 3.

    Thanks for the update and I hope it all works out in your favor. On the bright side, you may have had an influence on the decision to include the dashcam in V9.

    Good luck and continue to have great S3X!
