Model 3

Our New Model 3 is amazing (Private)

edited November -1 in Model 3
I made this private to limit the trolls although it probably won't. After the FUD from the news media I thought we might look at this car. I agree with majority opinion who have test driven the car. It is truly awesome. It is very tight on roads and curves and a different experience from the MS. The touchscreen works perfectly, visibility is excellent from the cockpit, the seats are comfortable, the views from all seats are great, it has lots of storage space and nice features like side pockets, consoles that are very functional, easy in-out, steering wheel and mirrors that adjust beautifully, easy Homelink connection,a deep bass sound system, and it even has Hohoho.
It drives like a sports car but is perfectly sized for a family and has plenty of acceleration. We love the heating/air system which is a brilliant innovation.
What it doesn't have, yet is WiFi to home or a browser which I like to have but most people don't seem to want that. It came with Michelin primacy tires and the car has great clearance and gets incredible mileage efficiency.
Congratulations to Tesla and owners who made this car possible. This is my wife's car but she allows me to drive it as long as I stay out of trouble, I will not race it. Two big grins ;-)

Awesome, Mike. :) So great to hear the positive reviews coming from owners, who have the S/X to compare it to. High praise IMO. When I saw and rode in at the delivery party, I knew it was going to knock people's socks off - especially new-to-Tesla folks. Very exciting times.

Good luck avoiding trolls and FUD. Judging by the belligerent opening remarks of your post, these things are more important to you than the car.

Congrats! I'm glad to hear your two gripes are things low on my list!

    @Phil, must you, really? smh

Excellent news - makes me that much more anxious.

Glad you like it. Despite the various issues general feedback on these things is very positive.

    um...I think Tesla either has:
    a) given owner privileges to many that aren't in fact owners or
    b) this is not a private thread or
    c) the private threads on the 3 forum are broken so that while clicked to be private, they are in fact, public.

You can easily check it by not signing in to confirm if it is visible. Let me know.

    burdogg -
I fall into a), but I'm the only one I know of. A side effect of the pigeon wars.

Thanks @Mike83, my delivery specialist tells me our M3 is being shipped to Seattle SC and hopefully will be available for pickup next week. Can't wait based on your positive review.

    So, confirmed that
    b) is not a choice, I logged out and couldn't see it.

I know Frank99 situation, but didn't recognize that Shock and phil were owners - maybe they are and Frank99 is the anomaly :)
So if there are non-owners who can see it, it must be because of reason a)

Thanks for sharing it Mike. Without FUDsters to contaminate the forum it is pretty obvious that Tesla has hit it out of the ball park again. All one needs to do it to take a look at the Bolt, or BMW's or Audi's if you want to, to know this is not an exaggeration.

As for be able to see the private thread I know people who placed an order is able to. Not sure a reservation would give one the privilege or not though.

Thanks Mike. Yes it is a great car. The autopilot is incredible. I did not have previous experience with this in my model S. It drives me most of the way to work. I love the simplicity of the car. The extra battery range is a big plus. There are a few changes that require getting used to. The keyless entry works well. The only hassle is when I go running I now have to carry my phone with me. I am not happy about the loss of XM but I am adjusting. But I guess if these are the biggest problems we are in great shape.

One of the cool things about this car is I can watch it change with OTA updates. Now I am spoiled with AP which makes traveling so much more fun and safe.
But my wife is now out driving around with her new M3 for 2 hours longer than she told me but I understand. When she gets back she might have to go to the store to buy some toothpicks or something. ;-)

PS Did I say the sound system in this premium version is outstanding.

This forum must be good for sales because I really want one after reading all these posts.
  • edited November -1
Yes, and that is the reason I am really struggling with my original plan - I was really going to wait for standard battery. The more you read of people getting theirs, the more impatient you get and the more you just want to get the car!

Get one. You won't look back.

lilbean Yeah blame the forum. I know what you're doing. ;)

One issue is the phone charging is set up for the new C type plugs I believe, and was told you can order the older ones from Tesla for $ 14. I have a Moto phone with a different plug. Of course one can use the USB to connect. I may figure a way to simply thread the cable so as to charge 2 phones. It is a very nice area that covers up stuff.
I can do this when my wife would let me have the car for awhile. ;-(
