TuneIn is not gone - still works fine with many AM stations. You might be more successful complaining to CBS. Seems crazy to me for CBS to purposely reduce your ad supported audience, but CBS doesn't seem to care. The only reasoning may be CBS plans to kill off its AM stations. Their audience is declining every year for the last 5+ years.
We need to get radio.com supported by Tesla. There is no other solution to the many missing stations, even more important for AM stations on MX/M3 that can't tune AM. Causing lots of fun for me in my household for remote FM stations.
Here is why (this was from 6/24/18):
Entercom (ed: CBS radio merged with Entercom) will begin to remove its stations from TuneIn. This is being done, Field said, “to drive all digital listening of our outstanding stations, shows, and personalities to our own Radio.com platform.” The transition dates are July 6 for the legacy Entercom stations, and August 1 for the legacy CBS stations.
This is why many stations (including mine and my wife's favorites) no longer work. Have same problem on my Sonos boxes at home.
Our 2nd Model S is supposed to be done in a week, and my wife is very pissed and has been talking about giving up our deposit and ditching getting the car (groan...).
Sonos has a beta radio.com app to deal with this. Unfortunately this will somewhat be the future of media consolidation, where this will happen probably once every 12-18 mo, so Tesla needs to assume some app work every 12-18mo, which I would think shouldn't be a huge problem if they are running Android or Linux (e.g. get app from given service and port it/modify slightly, so the user interface doesn't distract from driving).
If Tesla isn't willing to do this, then they should not show/give people ANY radio streaming apps, since this is just how it is now with streaming and their e-commerce companies homes for streaming changing constantly.
Can't people just steam from radio.com on their smartphone and then use their smartphone as there source for the audio system. I do this so I can get to music I have downloaded to my spotify premium account.
