I would like to move forward but wonder:

Panels go on top of proven roofing product. Minimal concern.

Solar shingles are the roof.

Is there any history of the solar roofs leaking?

    I've had mine for about 11 months and it's been leak-free. My prior roof did have leaks and was one primary reason for replacing it. I liked the construction of the new roof, as it is clearly superior to my prior roof.

    The weak points for any roof are the protrusions - vents, skylights, etc. They have to be sealed properly, which for our roof was done correctly. This true no matter what kind of roof you have.
