  Not quite sure what you mean by tire slap. Are you using summer tires in cold weather? That may cause noise problems and a lack of traction.
  
  It may also just be a section of road that is in bad condition and other cars/tires encounter the same noise. I've been on some freeways where they grind off the road in preparation for new asphalt and the noise level (in any car) is very high. On some of these sections, I drive in an adjacent good lane, and hear other cars nearby in the ground off lane as the tire noise from other cars is so loud.
  
  On wind noise, generally, it's quiet, but sometimes a bit more when the wind is blowing hard at some angles to the car. It's been rare but has happened a few times. Not sure what the cause is - but perhaps wind hitting some seam or the mirrors causes more noise.

  I feel the same way about the road noise. Not bad when in the X alone I just turn up the volume for music. When riding with my husband The noise is awful. Not what I expected from Tesla at all.

  I agree with @"TeslaTap.com" - air driven at various angles causes noise, we tend to neglect it with ICE and expect e-cars to be super silent, which they are in many circumstances (not including loud compressors for AC which is being redesigned, road noise typical in all cars or air stream noise). Outside of sealing all gaps, air noise is a thing. Gliders, motor less planes which are uber-efficient still have air noise at 75 MPH (low speed for them), some adding external 'gap' tape to reduce. I am not saying Tesla couldn't add noise cancellation, a great suggestion, but road noise and air are here to stay.
