Front driver side wheel off-center
I am having an issue with the driver side rubbing when I turn the steering. I have had this issue for quite some time now and it seems to get worse. I spoke to service last year and was told the caster is off causing this issue. I have received 2 alignments at the service center and I still have the issue.
I did a simple finger measurement at the front and rear of the driver side front wheel and saw a huge difference. The passenger side is centered, but the driver side seems way off!
I thought it was an offset issue with my aftermarket wheels, but it is not, because the stock rims rub too.
Does anyone know what would cause this and possible fix?

This rough measurement was done between the tire and the aluminum bodywork at the tire's horizontal centerline.
No idea what could cause the offset or how to change it.
> I had to go out and check my S. Interestingly my passenger side is a little off-center, with the wheel about 1/2 finger's width closer to the front. The driver's side is centered. I've never had any rubbing. I have stock rims, but Pirelli Centrino p7 tires. I also have RWD, so AWD (if you have it) is quite a different setup.

I posted this issue on tmc hoping to get some answers.
I've seen info stating it could be a tie rod adjustment or a bent control arm.

the reason i don't think the control arm is the issue (it can be) is that service would have noticed it when they were recently under the car. the caster is off by 26 degrees and service never fixed it. they've known about this rubbing for almost a year and nothing has been done. at one point the tech said the rubbing is due to the caster being out of position and can be fixed with an alignment and he still didn't adjust the caster after they performed the alignment.
I also had a loud snapping when I turn the steering and that turned out to be the front upper passenger control arm. I was told there is nothing wrong with it, but had them replace it.
The regional said it seems service has been failing you for some time now and we will be more than happy to tow the car to Peabody for overall inspection.
The car feels like new again, thanks to Peabody techs, Shawn Cook, and Ben Simon the new regional that is absolutely amazing!
Thanks for reporting back. Hard to believe that the Service Center you were going to didn't realize they were not helping matters.
