Chip on the edge of my touch screen.

I discovered a tiny chip on the bottom passenger side edge of my touch screen glass and I'm not sure what to do about it. I've had the car for less than 3 weeks and I'm 99.9% sure that I didn't cause the damage. Any suggestions?

  • Use the app and contact service.
  • He said, she said. Not sure what Tesla will do for you.

Don’t know if there is such a thing as a screen repair. I have seen stuff on tv that is probably too good to be true. They show fixing cracked cell phone screens.

Your other option is a screen protector over the chip.

Or if it’s very small just ignore it.

But it doesn’t hurt to see what Tesla will do.
  • The problem with little chips in glass plates (like windshields) is that they can be “stress risers “ and lead to a crack right across the face of the display. Will it happen? No one knows.
  • If you took delivery from Tesla - try contacting whoever you can and say that is WAS delivered with a chip.

If that doesn't work you could see if you can get the glass replaced or you can put a screen protector on the screen then the chip wouldn't be noticeable anymore
