Wireless Online Electric Vehicle, OLEV, runs inner city roads

The Online Electric Vehicle (OLEV), developed by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), is an electric vehicle that can be charged while stationary or driving, thus removing the need to stop at a charging station. Likewise, an OLEV tram does not require pantographs to feed power from electric wires strung above the tram route.

The length of power strips installed under the road is generally 5%-15% of the entire road, requiring only a few sections of the road to be rebuilt with the embedded cables.

Wonder if this is feasible with Tesla?

    I see no reason why not, except that billing system for the electricity would have to be rather interesting.

    even if we only electrified interstate highways. Use our batteries to "get around town" and then extend the range on long trips by picking up power from the roads.

    Power the roads by setting up solar and windmills along the median strip.

    The article doesn't say how big the system is, so let us assume it would fit on a MS like platform.
    It transfers 180 kW and the MS uses 30 kW that means every 6 miles you need a 1 mile strip of road just to sustain the charge level. Or every 60 miles a 10 mile strip... or 10 min of every hour you have to drive on a "charging" lane. That is similar to super charging except you are moving.
    Power requirements : cars are 5 sec apart, 10 min = 120 cars charging = 22 MW, 2 sec apart 300 cars = 55 MW
