I see on the pictures from the Detroit auto show that the cars have a center console and doorpockets. Why was this excluded on the retail version of model s?

Please show the picture you are referring to

They were saving it up for the Model X.

Carefree | 18 January, 2013

The pictures are of the Model X NOT S

Kiteulf | 18 January, 2013

I am aware of that.

Also, that center console looks exactly the same as the one on the S and that "doorpocket" looks more like a hand hold, too small to put much there.

Those alternating colored seats are a hideous idea...Major fail on that one. Looks like a mistake! They will be the laughing stock if they force that on everyone.

^Agree 100% on the alternating seat color scheme.

Nice to see the Model S in the background of these photos.

It's still a prototype. Auto manufacturers tend to go for more outlandish presentations with cars like that.

Does the S have the metal shoe scuff plates in the door entry like shown in these photos? The ones I've seen so far in the showrooms do not, and the plastic is always scratched up.

No metal scuff plates on Model S. Just plastic.

I like the alternating colors of the seats b/c I have a 5 yr and a 2 1/2 yr old and the white would not do well in the back. I would like to see the third row in black w/ the white in the front too for mom and dad.
