Key fob battery

Key fob battery

Can’t locate a replacement key fob battery (CR2354) locally and reviews of on line sources are concerning. What do you do?

It's just a regular battery. Besides size, it isn't different from any other cars' key fob batteries IMO.

So just order one from Amazon.

We were on a cross country trip and both fobs lost adequate power and the MX gave us an alert to replace fob battery. I looked in many drug stores and auto supply stores, finally called Tesla Mothership for advice. The MX requires the CR2354 and no other is acceptable. I went to the Chicago Service Center and they replaced both free of charge and did some other stuff to the car.......use them, you paid for the service and they are happy to serve you.

I bought 2 spares from the Service Center . . . keep one in the glove box and one in my wallet. Have heard a horror story about fob battery going dead. I sent message to the Feature Request Team through asking if they could provide a battery level indicator for the fob on the screen. We'll see if they can do.

Its a battery, not a pacemaker.

I bought a 5 pack, keep one spare in the car, and two on my desk.

From Amazon I should say. Nothing locally.

Okay, I know this is an old thread, but others may find this info useful.

My local Tesla SC tried to charge me $16 each for CR2354's, before tax. I paid $11.78 for 2 of them at, including taxes, for real Panasaonic batteries with a 10% discount for paying online. Note that buying from amazon will likely result in knock-offs for this product.

I'll pick them up at a local Batteris Plus Bulbs shop a few miles away once I get a second email from them. So that's about one third of what Tesla charges.

great info guys...I just ordered 2 online to be on the safe side, especially after my awful 9volt battery experience.......thanks again

Redmiata98 | 19 November, 2019 has them for $3.72 each with $3.40 flat rate shipping so you can get a few more for same shipping cost. So you could get 4 for $18.28.

I ordered a 5-pack from Amazon. I keep one in the car, four in the fridge.

There are several different options on Amazon. I thought I was getting "manufacturer-packaged" batteries, but they came in individual bags. I wanted to have some indication of "Use Before" date, but without the factory packaging, I didn't get it. That's annoying.

I bought non-Panasonic CR2354 cell batteries (by RayoVac) at local BatterPlus. It is too thick to fit in the fob.
