Poor 3G signal during update...wait?

I have a very poor AT&T signal in my garage (one bar). For example, sometimes, slacker is super glitchy because the music data cannot buffer in completely. My car is now asking me to perform the 4.3 update, and I was wondering if I should wait until I can drive to a place with strong signal before performing the update, since some people seem to indicate that it should only take 20 minutes.

I tried to update in my garage with 1 bar and had problems. When it finished it had call for service message on instrument cluster. Called Tesla service, moved car out into my driveway where I had 3 bars of 3G, Tesla did another update and all was better. Next time I will make sure I have at least 3 bars.

Once you your car is asking you to perform the update, the update has been downloaded. The update can then be performed with weak or no signal strength. The last two updates that I did where downloaded in a strong signal area and performed in my garage which has no or weak signal.

I have two bars in my garage. Update took about an hour but it installed no problems.

Garage bars should only matter for checkpoints. The software has previously downloaded.
