This would not be for everyone. Current clean design is good and what I'd like to have may be confusing or complex to some, but I am interested in it... Specifically:
a) The consumption "gauge" should also indicate the rated (or ideal, if chosen) consumption for the current speed. Essentially the rated Wh/km (or Wh/mi) multiplied by current speed. Could be indicated the same way as the cruise control setting, for example and would be more helpful than current indicator when people try to maintain or beat the rated range.
b) Split (stacked) indication as to how much energy is being consumed for actual motion (motor, regen) vs. everything else (heating, cooling, etc). Since regen is negative it may and will overlap the other one always but that can be represented by rendering it as semi-transparent, thus a sort of colour coding...
c) Either change or make a new "instant" Wh/km (or Wh/mi) consumption and projected range. I do know that this will jump up and down like crazy but, what can I say, I'd like to have that option.
d) Current energy graph averages segments differently for different range settings (10/25/50 km or whatever it is in miles). This tends to reduce the amplitude of the graph with greater range. I would like these to stay the same year as the screen has sufficient resolution to properly shrink/stretch the graph horizontally (only) without affecting amplitude.
e) A log of recent trips and charges instead of having just 2+1 of them. I'd like to see a split of how much energy was used for what (again, driving vs. otherwise) and would like to see the "vampire" drains too. I forgot to connect my car to the charger one night (wasn't important) and I think I lost some 50km (~30mi) in 24 hours in garage (not driven at all, went down from 280 to 230).
For other readers - this is just my interest. The car is great fun to drive and this is in no way required, just something I personally would really like to have. It may interest *some* others too...
