This thread is for tracking the actual highest VIN-number. Actually I found a VIN 9903 at TeslaMotorClub.
When do we see the 10.000?

Stop asking for VINs 70000 or higher? Rather than mindlessly cut/paste your original question, perhaps take the time to update the number in your question based on responses.
eg, any VINs 72000 or higher?
And what's with the Bump?
I presume the Bump is to keep the thread going to show the continued growth of Tesla. And perhaps to know if one should buy/sell stock.
Receiving a reservation number is the first step in the process of buying a Tesla Model S. The continuation of the issuance of reservation numbers is important in order to monitor progress of Tesla Motors. Though it's just one item of information, it does tell you that the process of progress is continuing. Which is good to know, I think.
S85D confirmed mid-October, VIN 70567, now slipped to March delivery in Rockville, MD.
At this rate we may see the first X VINS go out at just under or over 100K.
Thanks for posting the VINS, date you ordered, estimated delivery date and your location.
VIN P727XX was sent to me today. Delivery is for February in Texas
a VIN and registration # are not the same. The latter seems to be only a randomized internal ID, containing no sequence info.
If I remember correctly, there was a goal of 50.000 cars in 2015. For that (assuming there are no gaps in VIN numbers) they need VIN# 110,000. Less than 40k needed and we are still in January :)
That VIN #110,000 will be on the low side if Tesla meets it's plan to be delivering cars at a 100,000/year annualized rate this December.
@ Brian H
You are absolutely right.
I actually meant to say:
"The continuation of the issuance of VIN numbers is important in order to monitor and to conclude that there is a continuation of progress of reservations/orders/production/delivery Tesla Motors."
You can't just total up the VIN's. Every quarter, there are significantly more VIN's assigned than there are vehicles delivered. In 2014, there were 41000 VIN's assigned compared to an expected 33000 delivered.
Don't forget about all those Model X reservations standing by.
It has got nothing to with the quarters. These VIN numbers can indeed not be used for the quarters.
You're right. I only mentioned quarters because that's how often we have updated delivery data. Let me rephrase to avoid confusion.
Every year, there are significantly more VIN's assigned than there are vehicles delivered. In 2014, there were 41000 VIN's assigned compared to an expected 33000 delivered.
Were the missing 8k rejects? Scrapped?
We should see a higher pace in posted VIN numbers as time goes by. That's because the annual delivery numbers have to increase year after year.
What makes up the 8000?
- Net increase in the number of finished cars in the delivery pipeline
- Net increase in the number of VIN pre-assignments
- Net increase in the number of demo/loaner/lot cars
The rest were cancelled or scrapped or completely skipped numbers.
My S85 has started to build this week (16th Jan) with Vin 70232 - 6 weeks shipping over to the UK means an estimated early March delivery
Model X will have separate VIN#, you can't count it as Model S.
