Firmware upgrade.

Hello everyone hope your smiling from ear to ear while your driving because I am . So it’s been a month and a half since I got my CPO Model S I have heard of people getting the firmware upgrade. I have been told that there is no logic or pattern on how they send out he updates. Has anybody with early 2016 model s and earlier gotten the update ? Just curious thank you .

Which version do you have now? And is your car on WiFi when parked at home?

Razorx1337x | April 16, 2019

I did... and if your CPO is a P85 or P90 you DO NOT want the new firmware. It currently breaks your ability to enter max battery power mode and launch mode.

It’s 2016 70 D I have the 2018.50.6

Jcastillo18 | April 16, 2019

I am connected to the WiFi but now that you mentioned it maybe not the page takes forever to lead up in my car unless they all are like that ?

murphyS90D | April 16, 2019

I have a January 2016 S90D. I got 2018.50.6 on January 28. Nothing since then and my car was in for service on March 8.

I prefer the term update to upgrade. My recent updates have been downgrades.

@jcastillo18, as mentioned previously to you on another thread, I too am still on 2018.50.6 (received in January). 2015 S70D with AP1 active.

@barrykmd; well put. I especially love the shrinking of the control icons and making them all gray since Tesla's model S demographic clearly skews in the 20-25 range.

PBEndo | April 16, 2019

@thranx
lots of achromatopsia in that demographic apparently.

barrykmd | April 16, 2019

PB - That demographic being Tesla V9? And if you start using my words, I'm going to have to get to the root of that one.

:-) :-)

They got to the root of it. ;-)

Those are mind-boggling internet search skills, NKYTA!

From the main screen Tesla symbol you get to see an image of your car along with the software version.
What is missing is the software options your car has like EAP AP FSD. Since these options are transferable to a future buyer they are as important as the color of the car and the wheel type that is visible. The hardware version 2.0 2.5 should also be displayed.
