Extended Warranty

Extended Warranty

I just purchased an extended two year warranty. I was offered either a tier 1 or tier 2 option, but the person handling it had no idea what the difference is. There was a minor difference in cost. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? Thanks

"I just purchased an extended two year warranty."

No, you didn't. You pre-paid for service that you may or may not require.

Yodrak +1.

People often cite the reason for getting an extended warranty is so that repairs are covered. Of course they are covered, you already paid for them by paying for the warranty. Until the cost of repairs, minus any deductibles, exceeds the cost of the warranty, you are paying for, or rather, already paid for that repair.

Yodrak, there are no more service contracts, only extended warranties. I am trying to find out the difference between tier 1 and tier 2.
