Raising/lowering headrest

Raising/lowering headrest

I can not figure this out and don't see it in the manual. How do you do it?

DRFLGD | October 10, 2017

If you know where the seat adjustment controls are, there is a round button. Push it and a picture will pop up on the center console screen. Choose "headrest" and adjust.

driver seat controls, circular lumbar back control, press the bottom and you should get a pop up asking head rest or back control...

@impala1ss. Yes, took me a bit to figure it out as well! It's pretty cool.

I had to instruct the Tesla rep when picking up my new Tesla how to do this. :)

How do you adjust a Model 3 headrest? When I press the lumbar button (the only round button on the seat controls) the pop up menu only shows side mirror and steering wheel adjustments!

EVRider | July 15, 2018

@jmsimoraga: The Model 3 headrests aren’t adjustable (except for the rear center one). PS: Better to ask Model 3 questions in the Model 3 forum. | July 15, 2018

@jmsimoraga - You can adjust the seat up/down which moves the headrest up/down at the same time in the M3, but I suspect that's not what you want. @EVRider really answers it.

I have a 2014 MS but I do not get the on screen command or my head rest moves. Is there only a certain year that the headrest starts?

rjwhatley | May 30, 2019

How do you raise or remove the headrest?

reed_lewis | May 30, 2019

2014 have fixed headrests. It is in 2017 (i think) that they changed to a moveable headrest. Someone can correct me on the date... | May 30, 2019

My November 2016 build Model S has a moveable headrest.

Bill_75D | May 30, 2019

My December 2016 build Model S does not. | May 30, 2019

Don’t know if it matters, but mine is a P100DL. | May 30, 2019

Yep the 100's got the adjustable headrest first in Q4-2016 and then it was installed in all cars in the end of December or first week of 2017.

Clearly no 2014 had adjustable headrests.
