Model S Battery Pack Options

Model S Battery Pack Options

I recently watched an interview with Elon in which he stated that Tesla had decided to cancel the 40kwh battery pack due to low demand (4% of orders). If that is the case, why does the 40kwh battery pack still show up as an option in various locations in your website? Is it just a matter of website maintenance or ???

A big fan of Model S from Canada

you can buy the 40kwh pack, but you'll get a 60KW pack wich is probably restricted to the use of 40kw throu the cars software. So now you actually get the better performance from the 60kw pack but also the additianl weight. You'll also have the option to open up to all the 60KW you drive around with.

Tesla just don't make seperate packs for the 40kw option like they planned previously.

The 40 is being gradually phased out of the website. I believe you can no longer order a 40 anymore, but I haven't tried.

Tesla's website is a little slow to update, but that's ok. The important thing is that they keep up with production ;)
