Vanity Plates?

Vanity Plates?

Hey folks,
I'm a first-time poster, but a long-time lurker.

I just ordered vanity plates for my Sig and thought I'd start a thread to see what other folks have gotten.
After much deliberation, I got "HC FREE" (California).

I've never had vanity plates before, but as an early adopter, I'm voting with my dollar (ok, many dollars). I want to spread the word for Tesla and electric cars in general, and I figure a vanity plate is a good way to introduce the driving public to an option they may not be aware of. "Hey, that there Aston-Martin is hydrocarbon free! - oh wait, what's a Tesla?"

- Dean

PS: I tried to get "AC 4 ME" but that became unavailable while I was in the process of checking out. If whoever got that is on this forum, you would have missed out if you were a minute slower ;)

We ordered the metallic green MS and I ordered plates in December:

GRN WE R I wanted WE B GRN but that was not available.

Our mica green Prius ('07) is WE R GRN

Our last name is Green and I use PV solar to run the house and when the car arrives to charge it up (85kWh non-high performance battery).

any physicists get it?

ViewAskew | January 31, 2013

MI here... I went and registered ELCTRFI in late December. Of course when the plate arives it read ELCTFRI. LMAO! It wasn't funny at the time though. (my wife probably laughed for an hour after I opened it) I went back to the DMV and found out the original lady screwed a LOT of things up. A different person was nice and helped me out. My new plate with the correct wording should arrive in a couple of weeks.

prash.saka | January 31, 2013

How about BELI EV?

prash.saka | January 31, 2013

@jaycweber, Weber per meter squared = Tesla!

Brian H | January 31, 2013

RZitrin1 | February 5, 2013

Got the plates for my Sig., first ever "vanity" (I prefer "personalized") plates for me. I've posted what I requested on an earlier thread:

Wardenclyffe was the name of the Long Island, NY laboratory that was set up for Nicola Tesla about 15-20 years before his death. He performed some outrageous experiments there, but eventually ran out of money and sanity and retreated to a hotel room in NYC.

No one's guessed it, so among my friends I've given the hint "For what is the car named "Tesla." Hasn't helped them much so far.

Anyone planning on getting a legacy plate from the 1950s, 1960s, or 1970s for their Model S? California is issuing these!

nickjhowe | February 8, 2013

Upload it to flickr or and use the share option. Copy and past the code that starts with "img src=" or "a href="

drripps | February 8, 2013

This has a double meaning for me.

rodneynelson | February 8, 2013

People will wonder what you were charged with, and whether you're likely to be convicted! );(

rebeccap88 | February 25, 2013

Not sure many people will get it, but I just reserved "GAS 404".

kw1 | February 25, 2013

Reserved what I hope to do 4GOT GAS in California.

Brian H | February 25, 2013

You only get 404 if you're looking for something.

GeekEV | February 25, 2013

@Brian, @rebeccap88 - Perhaps GAS 101 (Switching Protocols), GAS 401 (Unauthorized), GAS 405 (Method Not Allowed), GAS 406 (Not Acceptable), GAS 409 (Conflict), GAS 410 (Gone) or GAS 501 (Not Implemented)... Though people are even less likely to get any of those!
