What does your dash display?

What does your dash display?

Curious about 3 things:
What do you choose to show in your right and left dash display panes?
what do you set your right scroll wheel to?
what do you normally have displayed on the 17"?

Left- trips , right -energy

Greenee | June 16, 2015

Energy on right, can't remember left. Right scroll fan speed. Going out to check the left screen, after I finish my coffee.

Left, media. right, trips.

brickfrenzy | June 16, 2015

Left screen is energy. Right screen is music. The scroll wheel changes fan speed.

On the big screen, GPS map is on top, and rear view camera is on bottom.

Left - media
Right - trips
Center - usually the nav screen, but I change it from time to time.

Can someone please tell me how to change the dash displays to whatever I want. My DS set it up the way I thought I wanted it, but I don't recall HOW he did that. I'd like to try displaying other things.

Thanks.

@Grinnin'.VA
Hold down the scroll wheel on the side you want to change for a couple of seconds and it should allow you to scroll through the different options.

When I'm just driving and Nav is not active:

Left - Energy.
Right - Media.
17" Top - Maps/GPS
17" Bottom - Web Browser, I flip between Waze for Tesla, Tesla Weather, and TeslaApps.
Right Scroll Wheel - Fan speed or sometimes climate temperature.

When Nav is active:

Left - Nav.
Right - Media.
17" Top - Maps/GPS
17" Bottom - Energy/Energy graph.
Right scroll Wheel - Fan speed or sometimes climate temperature.

The reason I do it this way stems from the fact that the on-dash Nav is fixed to the left side (you can't move that to the right side). It's actually more natural to have Media on the left because that matches with the left scroll wheel for volume. But if you set it up like that, then when Nav is active, Media disappears, and you have to then put it either on the right on on the 17". I got tired of moving Media around.

Also, when Nav is active, I'm more interested in the projected range on the energy graph, which isn't available in the dash Energy display -- it has to be on the 17" to get that. So it seems more natural to have Nav replace the Energy graph on the left when Nav is active, since I'd want to look at energy on the 17" anyway.

And furthermore, Media on the right works well because the Phone app replaces it when a call comes in, and Phone can't be moved either. That works because media is muted during a phone call anyway, so I don't need to see Media during a call.

Worked like a charm. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

You can also change it to a different Driver profile. I like the right thumb that adjusts the Pano roof. Cool to have updates on these features.

Fascinating!

I had no idea that the dash display panels were customizable. Nor did I know there was a Waze or Weather for Tesla.

@mposki Thanks for asking the question.

Media and Nav on left, Trip on right. I like having the since last charge line in front of me.

sandpiper | June 16, 2015

Media and Nav on Left, Energy on Right
Nav full screen on 17". I find it very useful for traffic even when I'm not using the Tesla Nav, which I only rarely do. I use Google Maps on my iPhone.

Rocky_H | June 16, 2015

Position in Model 3 waiting list on the left, sternly worded note about local Supercharging on the right. :)

Seriously, media left, trips right. Fan speed on right scroll wheel.

ScoobyDoo | June 16, 2015

Left - Odometer
Right - Energy
Right roller wheel - Primarily audio station control

ScoobyDoo | June 16, 2015

Center Console - upper half - Media
Center Console - Nav or Energy (I change frequently)
