EV Charging Fantasy?

EV Charging Fantasy?

EV charging in one minute?

and what is graphene

Even a mere 40kWh in one minute is a 6MW current. It would vapourize most cables.

The description of the conductivity of graphene reminds me of the superior rug-shuffle shocks that could be administered with a graphite pencil. A prelude to The Science of Tomorrow?

Agreed, even if the battery can take it, there are many other problems to solve before this is viable.

Musk dared to dream.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2010 was awarded jointly to Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov "for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene"

Yes, numerous problems to solve, a fantasy for now, but in that fantasy, the cables would not be made from copper.

The way they made graphene sheets by spreading the graphite oxide onto a cd-r and popping it into a cd-burner was awesome!!!

Here's hoping this becomes viable in as little as 5-10 years. If you could charge the Tesla in like 3 minutes, then that would take care of the EV range problem, easily, granted we have a more fleshed out infrastructure... Very excited for the future.

That's "ancient history" now. Graphene by deposition, with deliberate edge doping etc. is in the works, among other things. Just Google "graphene research", and sort by date.

I shall, thanx.
