Only 3.4s 0-60?

Only 3.4s 0-60?

This is from the email this morning to inform reservation holders that they will be able to configure soon.

Model X provides 250 miles of range, while achieving 0-60 in 3.4 seconds for superior passing ability.

I thought ludicrious is 3.2s right? Not that it matters that much but I thought the 3.8s to 3.2s improvement sounds a little high. Or maybe it's just a typo.

Maybe rollstart or non rollstart stuff or maybe a typo.

First world problem, some kid in China right now has no pants on.

When did Tesla say the 5,441 lb X could hit 60 in 3.2?

After the Launch Event, its web page gives you 3 choices

Cheapo price: 4.8 seconds 0-60 mph
Performance price: 3.8 seconds
Ludicrous price: 3.2 seconds

With above insider's letter, we now know:

Highly classified price 3.4 seconds that's not mentioned anywhere else.

I bet this is related to the Model S Ludicrous also achieving less-than-expected performance. The Ludicrous option in general is turning out to be not as much an improvement as originally anticipated.

That may be a revision of the 3.2 or it is a typo. The problem with e-mail is that it cannot be fixed. Retracted/corrected or whatever perhaps, but you do not get your e-mail back.

Sleepydoc1 | 7 October 2015

The email didn't say whether this was Performance or Ludicrous. From a glass half full perspective, I'm hoping (not believing though) this is actually the performance. Wow!

rossRallen | 7 October 2015

Maybe it's the weighted 0-60 times as follows:
[(# X ordered with Ludicrous)*3.2. +
(# X ordered with Performance)*3.8)] / total orders

Or, not.

BTW - what does not wearing pants have to do with it?

Eracer | 7 October 2015

Maybe its a mistake because 0-100 km/h is in 3,4 sec.
Somebody mixed that up.
