Have to keep this at the top of the forum! I know they do respond to the petitions if they get to 100K sigs. They responded when DOD suspended Tuition Assistance for armed forces. So hopefully we can grab the attention to the powers that be.

Can I stir the pot a little? Since this topic is inherently political, hopefully I won't be censured for going there... Are the states blocking Tesla largely red states, blue states, or a mix? The reason I'm asking is this - Tesla is a huge success story for the Obama Administration, but every chance the Republicans get they bring up Solyndra. Is it conceivable, possible or even likely that the true political motivation behind blocking Tesla may be rooted in Republican legislatures and governors not wanting to see an American success story succeed because it is indirectly linked to President Obama?
I'm just asking the question.
I don't think so. They seem to be states that have strong lobbying by the National Automotive Dealership Assoc. Elon mentioned in the Reuters interview that they are even having some issues in Massachusetts, though the worst trouble is in North Carolina and Texas.
Auto dealers contribute a LOT of money to state legislators...here in Texas it was not a red/blue thing at all.
Maybe Tesla should align itself with the NRA in order to get further with our lawmakers. A gun in every Model S! Sorry, I'm just avoiding work right now. I clearly need to find a hobby.
A gun rack in my MS -- just what I need!!
@ rdloftin1 - in carbon fiber, perhaps? LOL
Would this be a case for the Supreme Court? It seems to fit the criteria for the types of cases they hear. It would also cut out having to fight state by state.
