The tech package omits this? It is likely to require opening on a daily basis, especially if a 3 rd row of seats is fitted and children are carpooled. Opening the hood of an ICE is a fiddly and heavy in operation and I don't see this car being any different in that regard, Jaguar had cooled trunks many years ago, great for all climates that a human prefers to live in, rather than a polar bear. Grocery shopping without spoiling the food?
This area is a secure zone, which a parcel shelf does not really achieve. My B class Merc has a removable blind to achieve this and is a nuisance, only used when absolutely unavoidable.

Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
So, combining the two,
Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently rigged.
;-p
To MarkE: Why do you say this is a worldwide problem? It is certainly not being suffered, in general, in Scandinavia, China, Japan, South Korea, or a number of other places I have direct experience with. Even religious countries like Iran and Indonesia have thriving study and research programs.
@ggr
I wouldn't confuse a thriving research community with the general population.
I shouldn't have said expensive but rather, have no value IMHO.
@Brian, "Just look on it as the perfect set-up. Makes the moment of enlightenment all the more dramatic and potent! {Remember?}"
And that is why I will hold on to my shares of TSLA.... ;) I'm gambling that you are right about that.
Depends on the market I guess. In Norway, the Leaf is both cheaper and faster than the average new car sold here. The range issue stands, but we have quite a few QCs already (within my range there is 5 now and soon 10+).
It is, for example, cheaper than the Prius (regular, not PiP which have not been introduced here yet).
Maybe an electric unicycle could be made to fit in the frunk - and charge while in there off the car?
