Autopilot doesn't engage

TeslaTap.com | December 9, 2019

Is the car AP equipped, as some varients did not have AP? Is AP enabled in Controls? Otherwise, the next step is to make a service appointment.

are you on a road with stripes?

Are you trying to engage AP on local streets without lane lines? More details might be helpful.

Sometimes It takes multiple attempts (8 to 15 ) to get autopilot to engage. I've taken the car into service 4 times over the last 1 and 1/2 years without getting the problem fixed. I paid for FSD and received the car in 1/30/2018.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

it has to be the right conditions to enable. Watch for the steering wheel icon in the display. You cannot enable "anywhere at anytime".

You are most likely trying to engage in geofenced areas. Are you up to speed on where it is supposed to work and not work?

+1 @Joshan

No, AP works great for me as long as there are clear lane lines.

And your own car is centered reasonably well in the lane
And your not on a sharp curve
