Are 21" tires included in the Performance or is it extra?

I was invited to finalize my car today and I am torn between Performance and Non.

It says: Included Upgrades - Optional 21" grey wheels with performance tires

Well is it included, or is it optional??

Since you can choose 21" tires on a standard S it seems odd they would advertise it this way.

If you made your reservation before Jan 1, 2013, the performance wheels and tires are included in the price of the Model S Performance. See:

I reserved back in November so good news there.

So I understand this... The base price increased AND they now charge $3500 for something that was included previously?

So the price of the Performance really increased $6k?

Yep, increased $6k and selling like hotcakes.

There are some reservation holders on ebay and elsewhere who are willing to sell, so it it might be possible to spend less than the 6 grand up charge and get the car sooner too.

Well maybe this will make my decision to go performance a little easier since I'll get 'free' 21" wheels

The way they said, the performance version was priced based on 19" wheels, but they wanted early performance buyers to get the wheels of their choice. That is also why you don't get anything back if you choose the 19" wheels.
