Once thing that I already do is watch who is behind me any time I slow down. This is a habit that everyone should have anyway. With regenerative braking you do not come to a sudden stop unless you remove your foot from the accelerator pedal completely.

Regen cannot bring you to a full stop, sudden or otherwise. Rear-ending because of over-aggressive brake light signalling? Makes no sense.

Rear ending a Tesla might have something to do with its ability to stop really fast when needed, so that when there is a surprise slowdown in a line of cars, Tesla manages to stop before rear-ending car ahead, but car behind Tesla does not. It's just indication that Tesla has good brakes.
