Investment analyst toured the factory, saw and reported:
1) new Body Line 2 (Model S's line was there before this, it's called Body Line 1).
2) Lots more robots and much bigger production capacity.
3) It begins to pilot Model X shells
4) Several buses of new employees to be trained on that Body Line 2.
His impression: "gearing up" would be an understatement,"
Thanks for sharing.
Compared to Body Line 1, the sheer size and greater number of production robots (we'd estimate 3x to 4x) was evident, and we couldn't help but notice several buses worth of new employees receiving training for the new line. To say the mood in the factory is one of "gearing up" would be an understatement," said Erickson.
Where are the busloads of workers coming from? From another plant or what. Is there some other training facility or orientation center perhaps?
They evidently hope to sell a lot of Xs. The photos we see don't make it look all that beautiful, but in the flesh it may be quite nice.
Sad that investing companies get to see all this stuff and people who put down actual money get nothing but spy photos.
Beautiful? Gee whiz!
Who are these people?
Investing companies give them hard cash, with no vehicles expected in return. :)
I toured the Fremont plant in May. There were new robots in place for the MX but no one visibly working to set them up.
July 13th, mark my word!
That would be a great birthday present ken. I hope you're right!
Hey! My birthday is July 14th!
My 54th wedding anniversary is July 26 (Fidel Castro's independence day!), it would be a great anniversary gift.
Bastille day eh Red? ;-)
Yep! And a reason why I have no problem with Friday the 13th when it falls in July. I share the birthday with President Gerald Ford, a younger 'Sister', and a Goddaughter.
Monday the 13th, is the day!
I turned 13 on a Friday the 13. ;-)
FWIW, you also share a birthday with my half sister.
