Has anyone managed to finance sales tax in Texas?

Has anyone managed to finance sales tax in Texas?

Due to our ridiculous laws in which we pay Tesla before the car gets on a truck and pay sales tax separately to the state after the car arrives, I hear that folks are not financing their sales tax. Has anyone had a different experience? Perhaps Tesla can return the second $5k deposit so at least that part could be financed...

Amplify CU will fund up to 125% of the value of the car if you live in the Austin area.

There is no second 5k deposit you pay.

Let's say the car is 60K. You've paid 5 already. So you only need a 55K loan. PenFed will let you get a credit card at the same time within 30 days without running a second credit check. Then pay your tax.

But idealy, you are NOT fully financing your car. Better to take some of the money you are putting down and pay tax.

This is not a question for Tesla. Ask your lender. Most roll tax into the loan.

Schlermie, I am in Austin, so thanks, I'll check that out! JBunn, sorry, I thought there was a second $5k due at finalizing (I won't be clicking the button for almost 4 more weeks as I try to delay as long as possible since I have almost a year left on my lease!). At well under 2% interest, I will most definitely finance everything but the's practically free money! :-)

Oh, follow-up question, does Amplify (or anyone else) just put the money in your account so that you can pay the taxes to the state rather than to Tesla? Thanks!
