Tesla Model 3 without auto pilot - will it display cars nearby ?

Hi Everyone,

If we buy a Tesla Model 3 without Enhanced Autopilot option, will the display show cars nearby or will it be blank ? Will it have any kind of blind spot detection ?

Thanks,
Anil Kuncham

Yes, the cars nearby will display (I don't have EAP). I don't think blind spot detection is something that's available or is out yet but haven''t read all of the manual yet so I can be wrong.

Thank you Suren. That is a relief !!

Yes, but not right away. It took the better part of my drive home (about 20 min) from delivery for them to start to appear. I guess the cameras needed to calibrate.

All Teslas with AP hardware have blind spot detection, but it’s based on the ultrasonic sensors on the sides of the car, so it might not be exactly what you expect. For details see your manual.

As far as I know _no_ Tesla has true blind spot detection. My Model 3 with EAP certainly doesn't.
