New Seat Material

New Seat Material

I have always had real leather seats, including my 2015 Model S. I will soon be receiving a Model X with the fake leather (polyurethane) material. It looks and feels nice, but appears to be sweaty compared to real leather. How is this material cared for? Since it is plastic, I assume it contains plasticizers like other plastic materials to retain its soft flexible nature. Are there recommendations as to cleaners and rejuvenator to keep the material from drying out and/or cracking? I will also miss the smell of real leather.

The seat material is polyurethane. Tesla's been using it for a couple of years now and it seems to hold up very well. Some people clean them with baby wipes. AFAIK there's no special care required.

I clean mine with a cloth damp with water. Easy to care for.
